STEMI Recognized Provider Program
The American Heart Association is pleased to offer a special program to
pre-hospital care personnel. Learn Rapid STEMI ID online course has been
developed for healthcare providers who need to perform 12-lead ECGs and identify potential STEMI patients. This program
supports the AHA Mission: Lifeline ™ initiative.
This course
teaches:
- Understanding ACS
- Acquiring an accurate ECG
- Coronary anatomy related to 12-lead
ECG
- STEMI recognition
- ECG mimics of STEMI
- Indications for activating a Heart
Alert System
At
the conclusion, participants should be able to: Describe the STEMI chain of
survival; List immediate action steps to identify patients with symptoms of ACS
and ECG finding of STEMI to reduce time to reperfusion; Describe the anatomy of
the heart; define ACS and its pathophysiology;
identify symptoms that may be ischemic in etiology; distinguish the difference
between ACS and MI; describe how to acquire a technically good 12-lead ECG;
differentiate a normal 12-lead ECG from a 12-lead ECG with ischemic/injury
changes; identify patterns of ECG abnormalities; Identify patterns of ECG
abnormalities that require rapid reperfusion and team activation
This program includes STEMI practice and certification
exams. This continuing education activity is certified for nurses and EMTs/paramedics. Upon successful completion of the Learn
Rapid STEMI ID course and applying for CE credits, participants can choose to
enroll in this program and will receive a FREE enrollment certificate and lapel
